π₯οΈ FRONT DESK training
Everything on this page shows the REAL buttons you'll tap β same colors, same labels.
β Your first day, in 4 steps
- Log in on Compass (the shop's staff app).
- Clock in for your shift.
- Open a pet's card and tap the π₯οΈ Front Desk panel.
- Check the pet in β that starts their day.
1 Log in
You log in on Compass β the shop's staff app. It also unlocks the Day Board (the pet-card screen) for you automatically.
1
Open Compass. Type your name in the Your name box (your username is usually first name + first letter of your last name β e.g. Jordan Smith β jordans).
2
Everyone's very first password is the same: Password1!
3
Compass will immediately stop you and make you pick your own password β at least 8 characters, and it can't be Password1!. That's the one you'll use every day after.
2 Clock in & out
On Compass, find the clock buttons. Tap Clock In when your shift starts and Clock Out when it ends β every time, no exceptions.
Clock In
Clock Out
Start Break
End Break
Front Desk has its own Clock In / Clock Out pair for Front Desk hours if you work more than one role in a day (e.g. Front Desk + Bather) β use the pair for the job you're actually doing that shift.
!
Forgot to punch? Don't guess β tell a manager. There's a Fix a punch tool, but it needs a reason and shouldn't be your first move.
3 The pet card basics
Every pet checked in today has a card on the Day Board. Across the top is a step tracker β it shows where that pet is in their visit, at a glance.
Checked Inβ

Notesβ
Photoβ
Glammedβ
Done
Gray = not started Β· Amber = in progress (e.g. "Bathingβ¦") Β· Green = done.
Below the tracker are 3 role panels. Tap into yours β the buttons for your job live inside it.

π Bather
βοΈ Groomer
4 Check in the pet
Inside your π₯οΈ Front Desk panel, tap Check In the moment the pet arrives. That's what starts their card moving.
Check In
β tap β
β Checked In Β· click to undo
Tapped it by accident and nothing else has happened yet? Tap it again β it undoes. Once a bath or groom has already started, use β undo last tap at the bottom of the card instead (see the "something looks wrong" box below).
5 Watch the Walk & CBD line
For dogs, a line shows when their next walk is due. Bathers do the actual walking and giving of CBD β your job at the desk is to keep an eye on it and flag anything that's running late.
πΎ Walk due 2:15 PM
Mark Walked
π CBD:
CBD Approval
CBD Administered
This row sits near the top of every dog's card, always visible β you don't need to open any panel to see it. If a walk time passes and nobody's marked it walked, the row turns red on the card. That's your cue to check in with the bather.
6 Profile verification (breed + weight)
Check that the breed and weight on screen actually match the pet in front of you, and what's in MyTime (the scheduling/booking system that owns the official record).
Correct
β Wrong β fix it
If it's wrong, tap β Wrong β fix it, type the correct breed/weight, then Save β update MyTime β this pushes the correction back to the official record, not just this screen.
7 Price verify + OK?
Two related checks, both in the same area:
A
Verify Price β confirms the base price shown is correct for this service. Tap it and it turns to β Verified.
Verify Priceββ Verified
B
If a manual adjustment, handling fee, or dematting fee was entered, tap OK? underneath to confirm that amount too.
OK?βok
8 Front Desk notes (synced)
Type check-in observations, parent requests, or special asks into the π Front Desk notes box. It saves automatically as you type β "synced" means the whole team can see it, on any device.
9 Checkout
When the parent arrives to pick up, use the two Checkout buttons.
Check Out
Mark Paid
Tapping either one opens a small strip of names β pick yours so the record shows exactly who checked the pet out or took the payment.
Alanna
Deana
Raina
β If a pet gets checked out but nobody's tapped Mark Paid, a red warning appears: "Checked out but NOT paid β flag for Linda." Don't let a pet leave unpaid without flagging it.
10 Client-facing notes
The π’ Client-Facing Notes box shows what the parent will see about their pet's visit. It's read-only here β you can look at it, but you can't type into it from this screen.
β If something looks wrong
Wrong status, wrong button tapped, anything confusing β tell the front desk lead or Linda. Don't try to force-fix it yourself.
For a simple mis-tap on the pet's status, look for β undo last tap at the bottom of the card β it steps the status back by one.
